Born in Paris, with a musical education, he emmigrates to Canada in 1975, get maried and a few years later he builds his sailboat with his wife. They travel the sunny islands then return to Québec. After living in Monte-Carlo, San-Diego California and Vancouver, Roland discover painting although he had only experience with caricatures at this time. Women are his inspiration at first and then he paints some portraits of people with "faces" as he likes to say.
